Nottingham Forest announced Tuesday that Callum Hudson-Odoi will miss the rest of the season following surgery on a thigh muscle injury.


Hudson-Odoi, 25, was hurt during Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final second-leg win over Porto. He ends the campaign with six goals and four assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.

“Nottingham Forest can confirm that Callum Hudson-Odoi suffered an injury to his right quadriceps muscle,” the club said in a statement.

“Callum is ‌expected to return to full training during the pre-season period, and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery,” they added.

  
Forest sit 16th in the Premier League on 36 points with five games left, five points above 18th-placed Tottenham in the relegation zone.

  
Forest travel to 11th-placed Sunderland on Friday, then host Aston Villa in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on April 30.
