Jack Draper Withdraws From Roland Garros With Aggravated Knee Injury
Jack Draper’s injury troubles continue. The 24-year-old will miss Roland Garros with a knee issue after retiring in Barcelona, having played just nine matches since February.
The British No. 1 is targeting a return for the grass-court season after a stop-start year marred by arm and knee problems...
Jack Draper confirmed Wednesday that a knee injury will keep him out of the French Open.
It’s another blow for the 24-year-old Brit and former world No. 4, who already missed nearly eight months with a persistent arm injury.
Since returning in February, Draper has played only nine matches in five tournaments. He retired hurt in the first round at Barcelona earlier this month against Tomas Etcheverry.
Doctors later diagnosed an aggravated knee tendon issue. He’d still hoped to play at Roland Garros next month.
Draper has opted not to risk more damage on clay and will instead target a return for the grass season, with Wimbledon beginning June 29.
