Cooper Flagg scores 51 points, becomes first teenager to reach 50-point mark in NBA...
Cooper Flagg made history on Friday night, becoming the first teenager in NBA history to score at least 50 points in a game. The Dallas Mavericks star dropped 51 points against the Orlando Magic, shooting 19-30 from the field, including 6-9 from 3-point range, and 7-7 from the free throw line. He also added six rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 34 minutes of play.
Flagg's impressive performance wasn't enough to secure a win for the Mavericks, as they fell 138-127 to the Magic. Despite the loss, Flagg's achievement is a notable milestone in his rookie season, and he's now in the mix for Rookie of the Year honors, competing with fellow Duke alum Kon Knueppel.
The No. 1 overall pick from the 2025 NBA Draft is crushing it. He's averaging an impressive 20.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game this season. He's already racked up nine games with at least 30 points and 31 games with at least 20 points, showcasing his incredible scoring ability.

🔥 MOST EVER BY A TEENAGER
It was also @Cooper_Flagg's 3rd 40-piece of the season, the most by a rookie since Allen Iverson in 1996-97. pic.twitter.com/zJJ4RSBlN9
This rookie is making history, folks! He's got 12 double-doubles on the season and just became the first rookie in NBA history to achieve back-to-back 30-point double-doubles. He's living up to the hype, and it's clear why he's considered one of the top prospects in the league.
Flagg made history, breaking LeBron's 22-year record for most points scored by an 18-year-old! He dropped 42 points, surpassing LeBron's 37, and became the youngest player to ever score 40+ in a game. And guess what? He also reached 1,000 career points, 300 rebounds, and 200 assists in just 50 games.
But it's not all sunshine for the Mavericks - they're out of the playoffs with a 24-53 record after losing to the Magic 138-127. Brutal season for them.
