EPL: Burnley Relegated After Haaland Goal Sends Man City Top
| Burnley drop to championship after City defeat |
Burnley’s three wins from nine games early in the season offered hope, but a collapse since has sealed their fate. Tottenham and West Ham sit above them, clear of the drop zone.
Burnley relegated from Premier League after Manchester City defeat. It’s the fifth straight season the Clarets have been either promoted or relegated between divisions...
Burnley’s Premier League stay lasted just one season after a 1-0 home loss to title-chasing Manchester City on Wednesday night confirmed their relegation.
Erling Haaland’s first-half goal gave Pep Guardiola’s side the win and sent them top of the Premier League table, ahead of Arsenal.
The result leaves Scott Parker’s Burnley on just 20 points with four games left, an unbridgeable gap to safety.
The Clarets sit 13 points from safety. Tottenham Hotspur hold 18th place with 31 points, while West Ham are just above the relegation zone on 33 points.
It’s the fifth straight season Burnley have either been promoted or relegated, continuing their bounce between the Premier League’s riches and the Championship.
Look how tight it is at the top...

Reaction to @ManCity going top after Arsenal's stay at the summit comes to an end 👇
Three wins from their first nine games gave hope they could join Sunderland and Leeds in breaking the trend of promoted sides going straight back down to the second tier.
However, just one win in the 25 matches since has sealed their fate.
Parker has built a reputation as a Championship specialist, having previously won promotion with both Fulham and Bournemouth.
But the former Tottenham and Chelsea midfielder has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League at all three clubs.
