The Golden Knights came from behind to beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 in overtime, thanks to Tomas Hertl's power-play goal. Hertl took a pass from Mitch Marner and buried a spinning wrist shot past Cam Talbot for the win.

The Devils, meanwhile, edged the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 in a shootout. Paul Cotter and Jesper Bratt scored in the shootout, capping off a remarkable comeback. The Devils had trailed 3-1 but rallied to tie it 3-3, with Connor Brown's goal forcing overtime.

Game Recap

The Detroit Red Wings squandered a 3-1 lead against the Vegas Golden Knights, falling 4-3 in overtime. This marks their sixth loss in their last nine games. Reilly Smith scored early for Vegas, but the Red Wings responded with goals from Emmitt Finnie, Simon Edvinsson, and Alex DeBrincat, taking a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.

Comeback and Overtime Win

Vegas staged a comeback in the third period, tying the game and sending it to overtime. Tomas Hertl scored the game-winning goal in overtime, assisted by Mitch Marner, securing a 4-3 win for the Golden Knights.

The 3-1 lead held until the third period, when Ivan Barbashev cut it to 3-2. As the Little Caesars Arena crowd sensed a comeback, Detroit's nerves started to show, putting pressure on them to hold on.

Vegas' hopes of a comeback seemed dashed, but Mitch Marner tied it up with 3:24 left, forcing overtime. Tomas Hertl scored the winner 2:11 into OT, ending Vegas' three-game losing streak.

Hertl's 24th goal of the season kept Vegas fourth in the West. The Red Wings, now fourth in the East, dropped to 0-2-1 in their last three.

The Devils and Maple Leafs played a wild game, with Toronto taking the lead three times, only for New Jersey to respond each time. Matias Maccelli, William Nylander, and Matthew Knies scored for Toronto, while Timo Meier, Arseni Gritsyuk, and Connor Brown tied it up for the Devils.

The game went to a shootout, where the Devils came out on top 4-3. Paul Cotter and Jesper Bratt scored for New Jersey in the shootout, securing the win.

The Devils dominated shots, mustering over 60 against Toronto, but couldn't break through in regulation. Anthony Stolarz in the Leafs' net faced constant pressure, yet overtime and a shootout decided it.

Nylander and Matthews missed their shots, while Cotter and Bratt scored for the Devils. The win was New Jersey's third straight, closing the gap with Toronto in the East to one point.

Both teams are out of the playoff hunt, with Toronto's five-game losing streak a concern. The Devils' win keeps them in the mix, but it's a tight race in the East.

Anaheim Ducks 5-1 New York Islanders

Vancouver Canucks 4-6 Carolina Hurricanes
