Thunder cruise to 50 wins, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander nears record

Thunder grab 50th win as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander nears Wilt's record, Pistons lose to Nets. SGA powers Thunder past Warriors 104-97, Pistons suffer 3rd straight loss.

Oklahoma City Thunder reach 50 wins, Detroit Pistons stumble vs Brooklyn Nets...

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Oklahoma City Thunder to their 50th win of the season with a 104-97 victory over the Golden State Warriors. He's now just one game shy of Wilt Chamberlain's record of 125 consecutive games with 20+ points.

Gilgeous-Alexander's 27 points fueled the Thunder's fifth straight win, solidifying their lead in the Western Conference. The team is on a roll, seeking back-to-back championships with a strong performance this season.

Gilgeous-Alexander's 20+ point streak hits 125 games, just one shy of Wilt Chamberlain's NBA record.

“I wouldn't say it was super tough” - SGA on extending his streak, adding 27 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds.

The Thunder's 8th wire-to-wire win this season. They're gunning for back-to-back championships.

“If we were the best team last year, all year, we win a championship, and we get better, we should put ourselves in great position to repeat,” said Gilgeous-Alexander.

“This year's had a little bit more ups and downs for us, but I think we've done a pretty good job keeping that front of mind,” he added.

The Thunder took an early lead and were up by 14 points late in the first half. Although the Warriors briefly tied up the score in the third quarter, Oklahoma City defended resolutely for the win.

The loss continued a poor run of form for the Warriors since their star player Stephen Curry injured his knee in late January.

The Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons suffered a surprise 107-105 loss to the lowly Brooklyn Nets, with Michael Porter Jr scoring 30 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

It was a third straight loss for the Pistons, who remain three-and-a-half games clear of the Boston Celtics.

Anthony Edwards' 34 points weren't enough to save the Timberwolves from a 119-92 loss to the Magic.

Jalen Johnson scored 35 as the Hawks beat the 76ers 125-116, extending their winning streak to 6 games. That's the NBA's longest current streak.
