Tatum's return was emotional, and he admitted to doubting himself during his rehabilitation. “It was surreal, it was an emotional day,” Tatum told ESPN. “Many days I dreamed about this, and it's great it finally happened. Sharing it with my family, my teammates, and the crowd was everything I ever dreamed of.”

The electric atmosphere at Boston's TD Garden was palpable as Jayson Tatum received a thunderous standing ovation from the packed crowd, marking his return to the court after 298 days. The six-time NBA All-Star seemed a bit rusty at first, but he looked like his dominant self after scoring his first points late in the second quarter.
Tatum's return was highly anticipated, and he showed glimpses of his brilliance, silencing critics who wondered if he'd maintain his All-Star form.
Tatum got off the mark with a two-point tip-in dunk, followed by a confident step-back three-pointer from the corner, putting the Celtics up 55-53. He added 10 more points in the second half, helping Boston pull away for the win.
The victory keeps the Celtics (42-21) in second place in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Detroit Pistons (45-16).
Tatum opened up about his rehab journey, admitting he'd had moments of doubt. “Many days I dreamed about this, and it's great it finally happened,” he shared, visibly emotional.
“It was surreal, it was an emotional day,” Tatum told ESPN after the win. “Many days I dreamed about this, and it's great to finally happen. And sharing it with my family, my teammates and the crowd was everything I ever dreamed of.”
Jayson Tatum credited his teammates' impressive performance this season as a big motivator for his return, saying, “Being around these guys motivated me – the way they've attacked the season, the way they've competed together.”
Tatum's return has been a welcome boost for the Celtics, who have maintained a strong 42-21 record despite his absence. With Tatum back, the team's dynamics are expected to shift, and fans are eager to see how he'll fit back into the lineup.
“Being around these guys motivated me – the way they've attacked the season, the way they've competed together,” he said.
“Going through rehab is lonely; you kind of feel isolated. You just can't be out there. But being around them as much as I possibly could just still made me feel like I was part of the group and that helped me a lot.”
Jayson Tatum's return was a highlight, but Jaylen Brown led the charge with 24 points, while Derrick White chipped in 20 points. Payton Pritchard also impressed with 18 points off the bench, showcasing Boston's balanced offense.
Klay Thompson led the Mavericks' scoring with 19 points off the bench, hitting five three-pointers, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics' strong performance.
The Spurs pulled off a stunning comeback, overcoming a 55-point deficit to beat the Clippers 116-112. They were down 75-20 early in the third quarter, but San Antonio's resilience paid off.
The Spurs' win is impressive, especially coming off a win against the Pistons on Thursday.
Victor Wembanyama was the hero, leading an incredible second-half comeback with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. The Spurs went from 55 points down to snatching the win in the closing seconds.
Wembanyama summed it up: “This was like a statement to ourselves... any game is winnable.”
Wembanyama got solid support from Julian Champagnie (20 points) and De'Aaron Fox (19 points), sealing the Spurs' stunning comeback win.
Jamal Murray's injury is definitely a concern for the Nuggets. He suffered an ankle sprain in the second quarter against the New York Knicks, where the team lost 142-103. Nikola Jokic led the scoring with 38 points, but it wasn't enough to prevent the blowout loss.
Coach David Adelman didn't point fingers at Murray's injury, saying it's not an excuse for the team's poor performance. The Nuggets were already struggling, and Murray's absence will be felt, especially with his averages of 24 points per game.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks dominated the Denver Nuggets 142-103 in Colorado. OG Anunoby led the charge with 34 points, hitting six three-pointers.
“That's not why we got our ass kicked; it was because guys just let go of it like they didn't compete, I'd say from three minutes to go in the third quarter to all the way in the fourth,” Adelman said.
“Give them credit -- they played well, and we sucked.”
