Wetherholt had a solid Spring Training, hitting .212 with two home runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases. He's ranked No. 5 in the league and is expected to start at second base and potentially hit leadoff or bat second.

Wetherholt crushed it in Double-A, hitting .300 with 7 homers, 34 RBIs, and 13 steals in 62 games, earning him a promotion to Triple-A.

He kept the momentum going, posting even better numbers in Triple-A: .314 AVG, 10 homers, 29 RBIs, and 9 steals in 47 games.

Wetherholt's got a great opportunity to make an impact, and he's already being touted as a potential Rookie of the Year candidate in 2026. He's shown impressive skills, including power, speed, and a high batting average, and the Cardinals are looking to him to help turn their fortunes around.

The St. Louis Cardinals are looking to break their drought and make it past the National League Wild Card since 2019. They're kicking off the 2026 season on March 26th against the Tampa Bay Rays at Busch Stadium.

The Cards have been struggling lately, finishing 2025 with a 78-84 record and missing the playoffs for the third straight season.
