Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp shuts down Real Madrid rumors, focuses on Red Bull role...
Jurgen Klopp has shut down rumors of him taking over as Real Madrid's manager, calling them “nonsense” and stating that the club hasn't contacted him or his agent. The 58-year-old former Liverpool boss is currently serving as Red Bull's head of global football and isn't planning to return to coaching anytime soon, but hasn't ruled it out either.
Klopp, who left Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season after a successful nine-year stint, joked that he'd consider managing Atletico Madrid if Real Madrid doesn't make the call. He's focused on his current role with Red Bull and will be back at Anfield on Saturday to assist in a legends match.
Real Madrid appointed former right back Alvaro Arbeloa as their new manager in January, replacing Xabi Alonso who was sacked after just seven months in charge. Arbeloa, previously the coach of Real Madrid's reserve team, Castilla, took over amidst reports of unrest among senior players and a poor run of results.
Jürgen Klopp, former Liverpool manager, seemed unimpressed by rumors linking him to the Real Madrid job, saying, “If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now,” at the Magenta TV World Cup team presentation on Monday.
“But that's all nonsense. They haven't called even once - not once. My agent is there, you can ask him. They haven't called him either.
“Right now I'm not thinking about that. Luckily, there's no reason to.”

“They haven’t called me even once, not even a single time! They haven’t called my agent either!”.
“Preferably, I’d take over at Atlético Madrid at the same time. Sorry Madrid, you’ll have to call first”. pic.twitter.com/uruYQv03j4
“For my age, I'm quite advanced in life, but as a coach I'm not completely finished. I haven't reached retirement age. Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there's nothing planned.”
Klopp's got a special bond with Liverpool, and he's made it clear he's done with English football outside of Anfield. With his current role at Red Bull, he's keeping busy, but fans are wondering what's next for the charismatic coach.
