Antoine Griezmann has officially joined Orlando City, bringing his superstar skills to the MLS team after the 2026 season with Atletico Madrid. The French forward will complete his current commitments with Atletico Madrid before making the move to Florida.

Griezmann, a 2018 World Cup winner, has signed a contract through the 2027-28 season with an option for 2028-29, and will be a Designated Player for Orlando City. This is a big win for the Lions, who have been seeking to boost their squad with a high-profile signing.

Griezmann's wait is almost over - he'll join Orlando City after wrapping up his season with Atletico Madrid. The French striker's got a deal in place, set to run through 2027-28, with an option for the next season.

He's signed a two-year contract with an option for 2028/29, and is expected to bring a wealth of experience to the MLS side.

“The forward travelled to Orlando, with the club's permission, during the two days of rest granted to the first team, to finalise his contract with the Florida side,” Atletico said in a statement.

“He is one of the most gifted, accomplished and influential players of his generation, and his decision to choose Orlando City reflects the mission and culture of our club,” said Orlando City owner Mark Wilf on Griezmann.

“Our focus is on consistently building a championship-calibre roster every year, and adding a world-class player like Antoine reinforces that commitment and our belief in what the club can achieve.”

Griezmann's got some big targets left for Atletico Madrid this season - the Copa del Rey and Champions League are both in play.

He joined Atletico in 2014 and has smashed records, becoming their all-time top scorer with 211 goals, overtaking Luis Aragones' 173.
