Sunderland Striker Brian Brobbey Out for a Month with Injury
Sunderland hit by Brobbey injury setback

Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris confirms Brian Brobbey faces up to a month out, adding to Black Cats' injury woes ahead of Bournemouth clash.

“He might be sidelined for a few weeks or months. We still have a few more assessments to make...”

Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey is facing a month-long absence due to an injury, according to manager Regis Le Bris. Brobbey picked up the injury during last weekend's loss to Fulham.

This adds to Sunderland's injury woes, with Jocelin Ta Bi, Romaine Mundle, and Nordi Mukiele also expected to be out for a while.

Brian Brobbey's injury is a big blow, especially since he was set to return to the Dutch national team after a year. He's not the only Netherlands player struggling with injuries, though - Frenkie de Jong and Emanuel Emegha have also been plagued by issues.

“It won't last too long,” Le Bris said about Mukiele and Brobbey. “Between two and four weeks, depending on the way they respond to the treatment and the rehab.”

Injury Update

Sunderland's woes continue as manager Regis Le Bris reveals Brian Brobbey faces up to a month out, while Jocelin Ta Bi and Romaine Mundle might be sidelined for longer, with possible surgery on the cards.

“It might be a difficult injury,” Le Bris said of Romaine Mundle, who's appeared in 14 games for the Black Cats this season. “He might be sidelined for a few weeks or months. We still have a few more assessments to make, but we’ll have a clear picture soon. He’s experienced this injury before so it means something for him. It’s still early to say if it is exactly the same.”

Jocelin Ta Bi's situation is looking more serious - manager Regis Le Bris says he might need surgery, which would keep him out for longer.

“Jocelin might be in the same position as Romaine, with a different injury. He might need surgery, so it could take weeks or months. It’s still a bit early as well.”

Sunderland takes on Bournemouth this Saturday.
