The Carolina Hurricanes came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tampa Bay Lightning, winning 5-4 in a back-and-forth game. The Canes initially dominated, taking a 3-0 lead in the first period with goals from Nikolaj Ehlers, Logan Stankoven, and Taylor Hall.


However, the Lightning refused to give up, scoring twice before the first intermission and tying the game two minutes into the second period. Brandon Hagel and Nikita Kucherov scored for Tampa Bay, and Dominic James tied the game early in the second period.




The Hurricanes regained the lead thanks to Seth Jarvis' goal, but Brayden Point tied it up again on a power play. The game-winning goal came from Sebastian Aho, who scored on a power play in the third period.

Islanders Edge Canadiens in Overtime Thriller — Islanders Rally to Tie it Up

The New York Islanders fought back from two deficits to take down the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 in overtime. Noah Dobson got the Habs off to a strong start, scoring two goals in the first two periods.


The Islanders refused to give up, with Matthew Schaefer scoring a quick pair to tie the game 2-2. The teams headed into the second intermission tied, setting the stage for a wild finish.


The Islanders ultimately came out on top, thanks to their resilience and determination. 


Montreal regained the lead midway through the third on Cole Caufield's power play goal, but it was short-lived. Anders Lee scored with less than two minutes left, tying the game 3-3.






The hero of the night was Jean-Gabriel Pageau, who scored 1:46 into overtime to give the Islanders the win. This is Montreal's second loss in three games, dropping them to fourth in the East.


The Islanders' win gives them a stronger grip on the final playoff spot, extending their lead over the Washington Capitals with their third straight win.
