Jack Grealish's season ends with foot surgery

Everton midfielder Jack Grealish undergoes surgery for foot stress fracture, ending his season. The 30-year-old won't play again this year, impacting England World Cup hopes.

“Surgery done and now all focus on getting back fit...”

Everton's Jack Grealish won't be playing again this season after having surgery for a stress fracture in his foot. He got the injury during their win against Aston Villa last month.

This is a huge blow for Grealish, who's been struggling with injuries, and it'll also hurt his chances of making England's World Cup squad. He's been on loan from Manchester City, and now he'll focus on getting fit for next season.

Grealish made 22 appearances for Everton this season, scoring twice and providing six assists – his form had even sparked talk of a national team recall. Now, his season's over due to foot surgery.

Didn't want the season to end like this but that's football, gutted,” he said on social media. A tough break for the midfielder, who's been impressive for Everton.

“Surgery done and now all focus on getting back fit. I know for sure I will come back fitter, stronger and better than before.”

Grealish's England career's been on hold since his last appearance in October 2024 under Lee Carsley. Now, he'll miss the World Cup, kicking off June 11 in Canada, Mexico, and the US.

A big blow for the midfielder, who won major trophies with Manchester City.
