AGF and Midtjylland are going head-to-head in the Danish Superliga title race, and they delivered thrilling wins on Sunday. AGF and FC Midtjylland cruised to comfortable victories against Viborg and Silkeborg, respectively, in the penultimate match before the Championship playoffs.

The wins keep the pressure on as the two teams vie for the top spot. With just one match to go before the playoffs, the race is heating up.

AGF vs Viborg: A Thrilling Encounter

AGF came out strong in Aarhus, determined to bounce back from their disappointing draw against Fredericia last weekend. They dominated the opening stages, with Viborg struggling to keep up.

The AGF goalshow kicked off after 30 minutes, with Kevin Yakob scoring a stunning goal. He received the ball on the edge of the box and unleashed a curling drive into the top right-hand corner, sending the home crowd wild.

However, Viborg fought back, and 10 minutes into the second half, they equalized through Dorian Junior, who poked home a great cross from Charlie Nouck. The momentum shifted, and the game was on.

Viborg's celebration was short-lived, as AGF immediately struck back. Kevin Yakob scored his second of the night, half-volleying the ball into the net inside the box.

This sparked a surge of confidence for AGF, and they quickly added another goal. Just three minutes later, Kristian Arnstad finished off a superb attack move with a long-distance drive to make it 3-1.

The goals just kept coming. Arnstad scored his second of the night after 63 minutes, converting a penalty after Frederik Emmery was fouled in the box by Mikkel Bach Londal.

Gift Links sealed the win for AGF with a stunning drive from the edge of the box, the ball hitting the crossbar before finding the net. Osman Addo scored a late consolation for Viborg in injury time, but it was too little, too late.

Silkeborg vs FC Midtjylland: Midtjylland Storms to Victory

Silkeborg were struggling, without a win in seven games, and it showed against a strong FC Midtjylland side. The home team managed to keep the Midtjylland attack at bay until the 30-minute mark.

The breakthrough came when Aral Şimşir scored a stunning goal from a tight angle outside the box, giving Midtjylland the lead. Silkeborg had a chance to equalize four minutes later, but Tonni Adamsen's shot was straight at Elías Ólafsson, and he failed to capitalize.

Midtjylland made the most of the opportunity, doubling their lead when Simşir turned provider with a long delivery for Deni Castillo, who scored with a powerful shot into the roof of the net.

With less than an hour left to play, FC Midtjylland put the game out of reach. Aral Şimşir scored his second of the afternoon, curling a cross into the box that sailed past Silkeborg keeper Nicolai Larsen and into the net, partly due to Mikael Uhre's failure to clear it.

FC Midtjylland sealed their win with 16 minutes left, when Brazilian striker Junior Brumado directed another Şimşir delivery into the net. Brumado, who scored a hat-trick last weekend in Odense, finished off a perfect team performance.
