Bournemouth Boss Andoni Iraola on Semenyo's Form and Future

Iraola insists Semenyo committed amid transfer rumors

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola confirms Antoine Semenyo is committed to the club despite transfer rumors.

“I think we are being less efficient, definitely, than we've been at the beginning of the season...”

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has insisted that Antoine Semenyo is committed to the club despite ongoing transfer speculation. Semenyo has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Liverpool, and other top clubs, but Iraola believes he's focused on helping Bournemouth secure vital points against Manchester United.

Iraola's side has struggled on the road this season, winning just one of their seven league fixtures away from home and suffering four defeats. They're looking to bounce back against Manchester United, who are also having a mixed season. The match is set to take place on December 15 at Old Trafford.

Bournemouth, managed by Iraola, has lost four of their last six Premier League games, and they're looking to turn things around against Manchester United. Last time they met at Old Trafford, Bournemouth pulled off a 3-0 win, so United will be looking to exact revenge.

In a boost for Bournemouth's shaky defense, manager Iraola confirmed that defender Marcos Senesi is available for Monday's clash. This is big news for the Cherries, who need all the help they can get to get back on track.

“We have to manage his situation, but he's optimistic, and he wants to give it a go. I hope he can be available and be part of the team, because we know he's very important for us.”

Iraola was asked if transfer speculation is impacting Semenyo's form, given his recent performances haven't been great. The Bournemouth boss insisted Semenyo is “committed” to the club, but didn't directly address whether the transfer talk is affecting him.

“We cannot only analyse the numbers. He's not our number nine. He's a winger that gives us a lot of goals and a lot of assists, and he gives us chances normally. He was the biggest threat against Chelsea the other day.

“I don't feel (transfer speculation) is affecting him a lot. When you hear your name every day in the news you have to deal with the situation, but I think he's committed, and I haven't seen a lot of changes in him.”

Plummet from Heights

Bournemouth's season has been a tale of two halves - they started flying high, sitting in the top four, but have since slumped to 13th. Manager Andoni Iraola is determined to get his side back on track after a poor run of form, which has seen them drop down the Premier League table.

“I think we are being less efficient, definitely, than we've been at the beginning of the season. We were getting more points than we deserved at the beginning of the season, and now we are getting less points overall.

“I know that we weren't as good as we looked at the beginning, and we are not as bad as our results say, lately. We are somewhere in the middle.

“We are looking now for risk, efficiency, scoring, the chances you have, for being better inside the box. At the end of the day that is what matters most.”
