Red Bull Salzburg finally got their UEFA Europa League campaign off the mark, beating Go Ahead Eagles 2-0. The Austrian side, who had lost their first three games, were in desperate need of a win, and two second-half goals secured a comfortable victory.

Salzburg were the favorites to win, given Go Ahead Eagles' poor away form, with just two wins in eight games. The hosts dominated the game, and their win marks a much-needed boost for the Austrian side.

Go Ahead Eagles started strongly, with Mathis Suray's powerful shot from distance testing Red Bull Salzburg's goalkeeper. Despite the hostile atmosphere at the smoke-filled Red Bull Arena, the visitors had the early momentum. Salzburg created their first chance just before the 15th minute, with Clement Bischoff's shot on goal, but Jari De Busser made a good save.

Go Ahead Eagles had a great chance to score just after the half-way mark, with Kenzo Goudmijn picked out just inside the box, but he skewed his effort wide despite having no pressure. Salzburg dominated the second part of the first half, with Clement Bischoff having another close chance, his shot from 20 yards flying narrowly wide. The half ended goalless, with Salzburg having the better of the two teams.

Salzburg's Second-Half Turnaround

Salzburg's fortunes changed in the second half, with the Austrian side scoring just before the hour mark. A slick team move ended with Aleksa Terzić's perfect ball into the box, and Yorbe Vertessen turned it home for his second UEL goal. With the deadlock broken, Salzburg pushed for a second, with Sōta Kitano having two efforts saved and Edmund Baidoo's deflected shot gathered by De Busser.

Aleksa Terzić scored a crucial goal in the 81st minute, easing the tension at the Red Bull Arena with a powerful shot into the top corner. This followed his earlier assist for Yorbe Vertessen's goal, making Terzić key to Salzburg's 2-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles. Despite this win, Salzburg remains in the elimination places.
