Nottingham Forest were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Sturm Graz in the Europa League. Forest had missed a penalty, and the result leaves them with just one win in their last 14 games (D5, L8). Despite this, Forest had arguably been in better form, having defeated Porto in their previous match.
Sean Dyche's men started strongly, with James McAtee coming close to breaking the deadlock. McAtee ran onto a clever free kick from Nicolás DomÃnguez, but his shot flew wide. Nottingham Forest continued to dominate, with Ryan Yates' header cleared off the line by Arjan Malić. However, Sturm Graz had a goal, as Maurice Malone tapped home after John Victor kept the ball in play.

However, the goal was ruled offside. Forest then had a penalty appeal turned down as Emanuel Aiwu was penalised for handling the ball, but Oliver Christensen saved Morgan Gibbs-White's spot kick. Christensen comfortably held onto the ball, denying Forest a chance to take the lead.
Nottingham Forest pushed hard after the restart, with Ryan Yates firing wide from distance and Arnaud Kalimuendo having a tough challenge from Niklas Geyrhofer. Despite this, chances were limited, and the game became increasingly scrapped as the half progressed. Sturm Graz had a great opportunity, with Jon Gorenc Stanković struggling to make a decent connection with the ball after Tomi Horvat's set-piece caused chaos in the box.
Nottingham Forest nearly took all three points late on, but Nicolás DomÃnguez's deflected effort hit the post. In the end, a point was a fair result, given Forest's injury woes. Sturm Graz's defensive solidity was impressive, and they can take encouragement from holding on for the draw. The result could prove important for both teams in their quest for a knockout stage spot.
