Crystal Palace secured a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, propelling them into the top four of the Premier League table. This marked a disappointing start for new Wolves manager Rob Edwards, who failed to secure a win in his debut match.

Wolves had a shaky start, with Ismaila Sarr almost earning Palace a penalty in the 11th minute after Marshall Munetsi's foul on the edge of the box was reviewed by VAR. Palace continued to press, with Jean-Philippe Mateta's effort flying just wide of the post. Despite dominating possession, Palace struggled to break down Wolves' defense, with Sam Johnstone making a crucial save to deny Daichi Kamada's strike.

The breakthrough came in the 63rd minute when Daniel Munoz scored after Adam Wharton's shot deflected kindly into his path. Yeremy Pino sealed the win with a stunning strike six minutes later, curling the ball into the top corner. Wolves pushed for a consolation goal but ultimately fell short, extending their winless streak to 12 games.

Jean-Philippe Mateta's shot flew fractionally wide, leaving the Molineux faithful on edge. Meanwhile, former Eagle Sam Johnstone made a stunning save to keep out Daichi Kamada's effort, keeping Wolves in the game.

Wolves had a chance to take the lead, but Joao Gomes' low shot was well saved by Dean Henderson. Ladislav Krejci's rebound shot then flew narrowly over, keeping the score goalless at half time.

Wolves' failure to capitalize on their chances before half-time proved costly, as Palace scored two quick goals after the break. Daniel Munoz scored the opener, following up Adam Wharton's blocked shot, with a VAR check confirming the goal.

Palace made it 2-0 in the 69th minute, with Yeremy Pino scoring a stunning goal. Wharton played a key pass, finding Pino on the edge of the box, and he fired into the roof of the net, sealing Palace's win.

Wolves pushed hard for a consolation goal, with Hwang Hee-Chan's shot cleared off the line. Palace, meanwhile, held firm to secure a 2-0 win, their third away league victory in five games.

The result leaves Wolves struggling, with just one point from 12 games. Given the history of teams in similar situations, Wolves face an uphill battle to avoid relegation, needing a minor miracle to turn their season around.
