Rangers FC is on the hunt for a new manager after sacking Russell Martin, with top contenders including Sean Dyche, and Graham Potter.

Rangers has initiated talks with former West Ham manager Graham Potter after Steven Gerrard bowed out of the running to replace Russell Martin. Gerrard, who guided Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title in 2021, had been the club's preferred candidate but ultimately decided against returning to Ibrox.

Graham Potter, who was sacked by West Ham in September, has been contacted by Rangers after impressing the club's hierarchy in discussions. He'll be competing with other top candidates, including former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl, who's considered the favorite for the job.

Rangers' search for a new manager comes after Russell Martin's departure, leaving the team eighth in the Scottish Premiership. With crucial matches approaching, including a clash with Dundee United, the club is keen to find a suitable replacement to lead the team forward.

According to the Daily Record, Rangers are exploring alternative options after Steven Gerrard declined the opportunity to manage the team, despite being their top choice to replace Russell Martin. The club has now reached out to Graham Potter, who recently parted ways with West Ham United. Potter's availability has reportedly made him a target for Rangers' search. Meanwhile, Gary O'Neil, the former manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth, has also been in discussions with the club's directors.

Danny Rohl, the former manager of Sheffield Wednesday, is currently the favorite to land the job. Rohl's experience in managing on a limited budget could be an attractive asset for Rangers. With Gerrard out of the picture, Rangers will need to act quickly to find a suitable replacement and get the team back on track before their upcoming match against Dundee United.
