Pep Guardiola: Grealish's Form at Everton Has Been Unbelievable

Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola praises Jack Grealish's impact at Everton, citing his impressive performances since joining on loan from Manchester City.

“His impact has been massive since day one. He is playing well - it's what he wanted...”

Pep Guardiola provided an update on Rodri's fitness ahead of Manchester City's match, stating that the midfielder is not yet ready to play. Guardiola mentioned that he doesn't know when Rodri will be back on the pitch, indicating that the recovery process is ongoing.

Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic is expected to start against Wolves, with Guardiola suggesting he might play 50-60 minutes. The manager emphasized the importance of Kovacic getting quality time on the pitch to regain his form.

“Maybe 50-60 minutes,” he said about Mateo Kovacic. “He needs quality moment, quality time and quality minutes. It's important he is back step by step.”

As for Omar Marmoush and Rayan Ait-Nouri, “They trained yesterday and they are much, much better. They are close to a comeback.”

Pep Guardiola praised Jack Grealish's impact at Everton, highlighting his impressive performances since joining the club on loan from Manchester City. Guardiola noted that Grealish's influence has been massive since joining Everton, and he's playing to take back minutes and showcase his skills. Guardiola also expressed appreciation for Grealish, describing him as a “lovely, lovely guy.”

“His impact has been massive since day one. He is playing well - it's what he wanted,” the coach stated.

“The position we have with him, he is a lovely, unbelievable guy, but he didn't play for us for different reasons. He is back to real business. He is playing every game.”

Pep Guardiola also noted that Jack Grealish won't be eligible to play against Manchester City this weekend, as he's currently on loan at Everton from City. The manager expressed his desire to change the rules, joking that if he had the power, he would allow Grealish to feature in the match against his parent club.

“They’re the rules. When I will be a CEO or president of a big institution in England, maybe I will change it,” said the Spaniard.

“If he played it would be nice but I don’t have any opinion.”

Manchester City's star striker Erling Haaland is on fire, scoring 21 goals in just 12 appearances for both club and country this season. His manager, Pep Guardiola, acknowledges the remarkable form but believes it's unsustainable in the long term.

Haaland's hot streak includes nine goals in seven Premier League matches, making him the top scorer in the league. His impressive performance has seen him score in nine consecutive matches for club and country, the longest scoring streak of his career.

“He is doing really well right now. But you cannot sustain this level always,” he said.

“When he is going to drop, I will be there. We will be there. We have this passion to help the team, always have to sustain (each other) in bad moments.

“To go to the World Cup in the United States for him and Norway, it's really, really nice and important.”

Pep Guardiola praised Nico O'Reilly's consistent performances for Manchester City, noting that the youngster has a strong chance of making the England squad for the World Cup next year. O'Reilly has been impressing at City, showcasing his technical quality, decision-making, and work rate in advanced midfield positions. His rise through the ranks has been remarkable, earning him a spot in the England national team squad for fixtures against Wales and Latvia.

“The games he has played are at a higher level.

“Young players always have to be careful of compliments because being stable mentally is the most important thing in modern football. A young player can have a career of 10 or 15 years but it is not possible when your mind is up and down.”

“Nico is a really stable guy and that’s really important, especially going to the England squad with Thomas for the first time.”
