Luciano Spalletti set to take over as Juventus Manager

Juventus has reportedly agreed to terms with Luciano Spalletti, who will replace Igor Tudor as the club's manager, with a contract tied to Champions League qualification.

“Me, the new coach of Juventus? So far I have not been in contact with any Italian teams, but I want to return...”

Luciano Spalletti is on the verge of becoming the new Juventus manager, according to multiple reports. The Italian coach is set to replace Igor Tudor at the helm of the Old Lady, with the deal reportedly finalized soon.

Spalletti's contract is expected to be a short-term agreement until the end of the season, with an option to extend if Juventus secures a Champions League spot. This move would mark Spalletti's return to Serie A, and he could potentially be unveiled as the new manager as early as Thursday. Sources close to the matter confirm that Spalletti has agreed to the terms, and an official announcement is imminent.

Juventus' fortunes took a turn for the worse after a promising start to the season, culminating in an eighth consecutive competitive match without a win following a defeat to Lazio. The loss saw the club slip to eighth place in Serie A, prompting a change in leadership. Despite their current position, Juventus are still within touching distance of fourth-placed Inter, trailing by just three points.

According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, Luciano Spalletti has agreed to join Juventus on a contract that runs until the summer. However, there's a twist - if the club manages to qualify for the Champions League, Spalletti's deal will be automatically extended. This structure suggests Juventus is looking to secure Spalletti's services for the long term if he can guide them back to Champions League football.

“Me, the new coach of Juventus? So far I have not been in contact with any Italian teams, but I want to return,” Spalletti said in an interview with Italian TV channel Sky Sport.

“Igor is a real man with values. You have to get on well with someone like him. He is a man with substance who gets straight to the point. Whoever replaces him on the Juventus bench will be lucky, he will definitely take over a well-coached team.”

Luciano Spalletti's most recent club management stint was with Napoli, where he led the team to a Serie A title in the 2022/23 season. However, his tenure with the Italian national team didn't quite live up to expectations.

With a wealth of experience, Spalletti has previously managed several notable clubs, including Roma and Zenit St Petersburg, where he had long stints. He's also had spells at Inter Milan, Empoli, Sampdoria, and Udinese, showcasing his versatility as a manager.
