Hansi Flick's Barcelona Wins Thrilling Match Against Girona

Hansi Flick's Barcelona edges Girona 2-1 in a nail-biting match, with Araujo scoring the winner in added time.

“We created a lot of chances, but if we're honest, Girona created a lot in the first half. The next few games are very important for us...”

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick praised his team's fighting spirit after they secured a thrilling 2-1 win over Girona. Despite being sent off for arguing with the referee, Flick was in high spirits as defender Ronald Araujo scored a dramatic 93rd-minute winner.

Flick acknowledged Girona's strong performance in the first half, but was impressed by his team's resilience. “We created a lot of chances, but if we're honest, Girona created a lot in the first half. The next few games are very important for us.”

Araujo, who came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute, proved to be the match-winner with his stunning goal. Flick praised Araujo's attitude and contribution to the team, saying, “I'm very happy for Araujo. His attitude when he plays, what he gives to this club and this team. He can play in that position at certain times.”

Flick also explained his actions after being sent off, stating, “The celebration wasn't directed at anyone, it was because of how we had won. I was happy. I don't do anything against anyone and I never will. I accept the referee's decision.«

“It was a fantastic match. It's very important to see how we got the three points for the future. This gives us confidence, and I'm very happy for the team,” said Flick, who led Barcelona to the league title last season.

Ronald Araujo turned out to be the unexpected match-winner when he came off the bench in the 82nd minute and scored the winning goal in added time. Barcelona's coach, Hansi Flick, was thrilled with Araujo's contribution, praising his attitude and versatility.

“I'm very happy for Araujo. His attitude when he plays, what he gives to this club and this team. He can play in that position at certain times. I asked him before he came on if he could play there, and he said yes,” Flick added.

Even though Hansi Flick was sent off, he couldn't hide his excitement when Ronald Araujo scored the winning goal, celebrating wildly in the stands.

“The celebration wasn't directed at anyone; it was because of how we had won. I was happy. I don't do anything against anyone, and I never will. I accept the referee's decision,” Flick said.
