Pyramids FC emerged victorious in the 2025 CAF Super Cup, edging out RS Berkane 1-0 in Cairo, Egypt. The winning goal was scored by Mahmoud Mayele, who netted a thrilling 75th-minute strike.

Mayele's goal came after a brilliant piece of teamwork, with Imad Riahi being dispossessed by Mohamed Chibi, who then pushed the ball into the Berkane area. Mayele expertly fired a low shot across goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi and into the net off the far post.

With this win, Pyramids FC claimed their first CAF Super Cup title, worth $500,000, and became the third Egyptian club to win the competition after Al Ahly and Zamalek. Mayele was instrumental in Pyramids' success, having previously led the team to the Champions League title last season, where he finished as the top scorer with nine goals.

The goal was scored after Imad Riahi lost possession to Mohamed Chibi in a challenge near the halfway line at Cairo's 30 June Stadium. Chibi's clever pass into the box found its mark as Mayele expertly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi, securing a crucial goal for his team.

Mahmoud Mayele, formerly known as Fiston Mayele, joined Pyramids FC in 2023 from Young Africans, a Tanzanian club. He recently converted to Islam, adopting the name Mahmoud. This change comes after a remarkable season with Pyramids.

Mayele was instrumental in Pyramids' CAF Champions League win last season, leading the competition with nine goals. His impressive performance marked a historic moment for the club, which lifted the trophy in only its second attempt.

Pyramids FC's triumph in the CAF Super Cup netted them a substantial $500,000 prize, marking a significant milestone for the Egyptian club. This victory not only added a prestigious title to their collection but also cemented their position as one of Egypt's top teams.

With this win, Pyramids became the third Egyptian club to claim the Super Cup title, following in the footsteps of Al Ahly, who boasts an impressive eight titles, and Zamalek, with five wins under their belt. Their opponents, RS Berkane, had previously tasted success in the Super Cup three seasons ago.

The CAF Super Cup victory is a testament to Pyramids' growing prowess in African football, and they join an elite group of Egyptian clubs who have conquered the continent
