Graham Potter has been appointed as the new head coach of the Swedish national team, replacing Jon Dahl Tomasson. Tomasson's sacking followed a disappointing 0-1 defeat to Kosovo at home. Potter's appointment was confirmed by the Swedish FA.

Graham Potter's short-term contract includes Sweden's potential playoff games in March next year, with an automatic extension clause if Sweden qualifies for the World Cup. With experience coaching Premier League clubs like Chelsea, West Ham, and Brighton, Potter takes the reins of a team struggling in World Cup qualification.

“I am very honoured by the task, but also incredibly inspired. Sweden has fantastic players who deliver in the world's best leagues week after week. My task will be to create the right conditions so that we as a team can perform at the highest level and lead Sweden to the World Cup next summer,” said Potter, who will start the work from today.

Graham Potter takes the reins of a Swedish team struggling in their World Cup qualification campaign. With only one point from four qualifying games, Sweden finds itself six points behind second place with just two games remaining, a daunting deficit.

The team had a disappointing start under Jon Dahl Tomasson, who was sacked following a 0-1 defeat to Kosovo. Potter's challenge is to revitalize the team and guide them to the World Cup, leveraging his experience coaching in Sweden with Östersund and motivating star players like Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres.
