Harry Kane's goal-scoring streak continues as Bayern Munich defeats Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the 113th Bundesliga Klassiker. This win allows Bayern to match Borussia Dortmund's German record of 11 consecutive victories in all competitions to start a season.

From the kickoff, Bayern Munich dominated the match, with Joshua Kimmich putting Gregor Kobel to the test with a long-range shot. The Dortmund goalkeeper responded impressively, making a crucial double stop to deny Michael Olise and Luis Diaz.

Bayern Munich's opener arrived in the 22nd minute when Harry Kane rose highest to meet Joshua Kimmich's corner at the near post, flicking the ball past the helpless Gregor Kobel. This remarkable strike marked Kane's 12th league goal of the campaign, and its impact was immediate. Bayern dominated the remainder of the half, hardly troubled by Dortmund.

The second half brought a different story, with Dortmund pushing hard for an equalizer. They came close when Felix Nmecha's header bounced just past the post, signaling a potentially pivotal moment in the match.

Borussia Dortmund's fortunes took a further hit when Karim Adeyemi had a golden opportunity to score. Adeyemi found himself in space within the penalty area but slipped while taking his shot, causing the ball to sail wide. The Dortmund players were visibly frustrated at having failed to capitalize on their momentum.

Their disappointment deepened with 10 minutes remaining when Bayern doubled their lead. Jude Bellingham, attempting to cut out a cross, hesitated in the six-yard box, allowing Michael Olise to pounce and slot the ball into the net.

Dortmund manager Edin Terzic responded by sending Niko Kovac's substitutes onto the pitch, a decision that seemed warranted as Julian Brandt almost immediately halved the deficit. Brandt cleverly diverted Julian Ryerson's cross into the net, injecting new life into Dortmund's campaign.

The late goal sparked a frantic finish, but ultimately, Bayern held on for the win. The result leaves Dortmund trailing Bayern by seven points, a significant gap in the standings.

However, Dortmund shouldn't view this loss as irreparable damage. After all, they faced an even bigger deficit in the 2022/23 season, ultimately missing the title by just a goal difference. This setback shouldn't derail their campaign.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich extended their unbeaten record in Europe's top five leagues, ending a three-match winless streak against Dortmund. The reigning champions are determined to hold onto their crown for as long as possible.
