A 94th-minute header from Aleksandar Pesic secured a last-gasp 1-1 draw for 10-man Ferencvarosi TC against Viktoria Plzen in their UEFA Europa League (UEL) opener, extending Fradi’s unbeaten run across all competitions to five matches (W3, D2).
In a repeat of last season’s UEL playoff clash between the two sides, it was Plzen who started on the front foot in Budapest, with Amar Memic twice going close to a breakthrough inside the opening 10 minutes.
The visitors' relentless pressure finally paid off when Rafiu Durosinmi scored a stunning goal. Durosinmi received a pass from Merchas Doski and expertly finished beyond Denes Dibusz from the edge of the box, showcasing his skill and precision.
Ferencvaros, riding high on an unbeaten streak in European home games against Czech teams, aimed to establish dominance early on. However, their journey became increasingly tough when right-back Cebrail Makreckis received a second yellow card for cynically pulling back Matej Vydra, leaving Ferencvaros with 10 players.

The red card significantly altered the game's dynamics, forcing Ferencvaros to regroup and adopt a more defensive approach. Despite being outnumbered, they managed to hold on until the final whistle, ultimately securing a 1-1 draw thanks to Aleksandar Pesic's 94th-minute header.
With the numerical advantage, Viktoria Plzen pushed for a second goal at the start of the second half. Martin Vydra's long-range strike was smartly saved by Denes Dibusz, while Sampson Dweh's effort from the edge of the area narrowly missed the target.
Despite being down by a man, Ferencvarosi TC remained a threat on the counter. Bence Otvos had a chance to equalize but missed the target with an instinctive effort in the six-yard box.
As the match entered the final quarter-hour, both teams continued to create scoring opportunities. Callum O'Dowda had a promising chance but headed the ball wastefully wide despite being well-placed in the box.
In a thrilling conclusion, Ferencvarosi TC snatched a late equalizer deep into stoppage time. Aleksandar Pesic scored with a precise header, directing Gavriel Kanichowsky's cross into the far corner and salvaging a point for the hosts.
