Spurs 'unequivocally reject' £4.5 billion takeover bid from American consortium...
Tottenham Hotspur's owners have firmly rejected a reported £4.5 billion takeover bid from a US consortium led by tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick. The club's majority shareholder, ENIC Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd, stated that they “unequivocally rejected” the informal expression of interest. ENIC reaffirmed that Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale and they have no intention of selling their stake in the club.
The Sun newspaper reported Earick was ready to launch an overall £4.5 billion bid to buy the club, exceeding the £4.25 billion package that an American consortium paid for London rivals Chelsea in 2022.
The bid allegedly included a £3.3 billion takeover offer and an additional £1.2 billion earmarked for enhancing the Spurs squad.
The club's board, led by new non-executive chairman Peter Charrington, emphasized their commitment to maintaining ownership and driving success on the pitch. A source close to the Lewis family, who run Spurs, said the unsolicited interest didn't change their resolve to focus on long-term success, particularly after their Europa League triumph. This rejection marks the third takeover attempt turned down by Spurs, following approaches from Amanda Staveley's PCP International Finance Limited and Firehawk Holdings Limited.
Key Details of the Takeover Bid:
Bid Value: £4.5 billion (£3.3 billion takeover bid + £1.2 billion for squad improvement)
Consortium Leader: Brooklyn Earick, American tech entrepreneur and founder of Redacted RnD
ENIC's Stance: Firm rejection, reiterating Spurs is not for sale
Deadline for Formal Offer: October 24, 2025, as per UK takeover rules.

Tottenham Hotspur's head coach, Thomas Frank, expressed confidence in the club's stability under the Lewis family's ownership, highlighting their transparent communication about not selling the club. With the consortium required to announce a firm intention to make an offer or withdraw by October 24, the future of Earick's bid remains uncertain.
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank downplayed the takeover bid news as a distraction for his team ahead of their Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Frank emphasized that the Lewis family's commitment to the club remains unchanged, and the team is focused on the upcoming game rather than the speculation surrounding the potential bid. With the club's owners having “unequivocally rejected” the expression of interest, Frank's players are set to take to the pitch with their sights firmly on securing a positive result against Wolves.
“The Lewis family has been very transparent, very good in the way they have communicated, and it's very clear the club is not for sale,” said Frank.
“Personally, I feel in a very stable environment going into work every day.”
