Spanish midfielder Marco Asensio has completed a permanent transfer to Fenerbahce from Paris Saint-Germain. The move comes after Asensio's contract with PSG was set to expire in June 2024, and he seemingly wouldn't extend his deal.
Fenerbahce announced the signing on social media, confirming that an agreement had been reached with PSG for Asensio's transfer. The exact fee paid for the 27-year-old playmaker was not disclosed.
The 29-year-old winger joined PSG from Real Madrid in 2023, following a successful stint at the Santiago Bernabéu. During his time at Real Madrid, Asensio won three Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles. He also had a notable loan spell at Aston Villa in the Premier League, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.

Asensio joins Fenerbahce after the club parted ways with Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho in late August. The team failed to qualify for the Champions League, prompting the coaching change. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce is reportedly set to announce the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson from Manchester City in the coming hours, according to Turkish media.
