Everton's Jack Grealish may have left Anfield frustrated after their 2-1 loss to Liverpool on Saturday but the England international said his love for football has been rekindled since joining the Toffees on loan from Manchester City.

“I thank him for giving me my love back, and waking up on a match day and wanting to smile and play again...”

Jack Grealish credits Everton coach David Moyes for revitalizing his passion for football. After joining the Toffees on loan from Manchester City, Grealish has rediscovered his love for the game, which had dwindled due to limited playing time at the Etihad Stadium. With four assists in his first five games, Grealish has made a significant impact at Everton.

Grealish's contribution to the team was evident in their match against Liverpool, where he set up the lone goal by sending in a cross that Iliman Ndiaye cut back for Idrissa Gueye to score. Despite leaving Anfield frustrated after the 2-1 loss, Grealish's enthusiasm for football has been reignited under Moyes' guidance. His impressive start to the season earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award for August.

“I think the manager has come out and said a few times, 'It's not down to me, it's down to Jack,' which sometimes I disagree with,” he said. “Because, I've come here and he's been so, so good with me. I've absolutely loved playing for him.”

Jack Grealish is determined to revive his England career and force his way back into the squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The left winger's decision to join Everton on loan from Manchester City was sealed during a phone call with manager David Moyes while Grealish was on holiday.  As soon as I spoke to him, when I was on holiday, I just knew that I wanted to come and play for him,” Grealish revealed, expressing his enthusiasm for the project.

Everton fans see Jack Grealish's resurgence as a beacon of hope for the team, especially after a promising start to the season with only two losses in their first five league games. His impact goes beyond individual performance, symbolizing a positive shift in the team's overall momentum. Grealish's creativity and skill on the field have been a welcome addition, and fans are excited to see how he'll continue to influence the team's dynamics.

For Grealish himself, this renewed form is a reminder of his initial passion for football. After struggling with limited playing time at Manchester City, he's found an environment at Everton where he can express himself freely. Under David Moyes' guidance, Grealish has rediscovered his love for the game, and his four assists in the first five games showcase his growing influence on the team.

“I want to come here and make a difference in games like today,” the 30-year-old said. “Obviously, it wasn't meant to be, but we've got important games coming up, so hopefully we can get back on track.”

Jordan Pickford made a crucial save when he blocked Ibrahima Konate's powerful header with his chest, denying a likely second-half goal.

In a heartfelt tribute, Jack Grealish expressed gratitude to Everton manager David Moyes, saying, “I thank him for giving me my love back, and waking up on a match day and wanting to smile and play again.” Grealish also praised the fans, adding, “And the fans as well, they've been so good with me.” Having been named Premier League Player of the Month for August, Grealish credited Moyes for more than just tactical guidance, highlighting the significant impact the manager has had on his game and overall enthusiasm.
