Spain stages an incredible comeback against Denmark, winning 3-2 in the Davis Cup. Pablo Carreno-Busta's decisive victory secures Spain's spot in the finals.

Pablo Carreno-Busta delivered a stunning performance, defeating Elmer Moller 6-2, 6-3 in the deciding match, to lead Spain to a remarkable 3-2 comeback victory over Denmark. This win secured Spain's spot in the Davis Cup finals in Bologna later this year. The Spanish team, captained by David Ferrer, showed incredible resilience after being down 2-0, with Carreno-Busta's experience and skill proving pivotal in the decisive match.

Denmark had a golden opportunity to advance to the Final 8 in Bologna but fell short, with the frustrated Danes ultimately ending their campaign in tears. Despite taking an early 2-0 lead, Denmark couldn't maintain their momentum, and Spain staged an impressive comeback. Elmer Moller, who had beaten Jaume Munar earlier in the tie, was unable to replicate his form against Carreno-Busta, committing 31 unforced errors in the deciding match.

Carreno-Busta, ranked 123rd in the world, dominated the match against Moller, showcasing his experience and tactical prowess. He lost only two points on his serve in the first set and wrapped up the match in just 1 hour and 24 minutes. This victory marked a significant moment for Spain, which became the latest team to qualify for the Davis Cup finals in Bologna.

Denmark's Frederik Løkke Nielsen's team initially took a 2-0 lead after the singles matches on Saturday. However, Spain staged a remarkable comeback, winning three matches on Sunday to secure a 3-2 victory on aggregate.

Pablo Carreño Busta's Decisive Win
In the crucial singles match played in Marbella, Elmer Møller lost to Pablo Carreño Busta with a score of 2-6, 3-6. Despite Møller's impressive performance against Jaume Munar on Saturday, he couldn't replicate the same level of play against Carreño Busta, who demonstrated greater stability throughout the match. Notably, Møller had handled pressure well in a previous decisive match against Serbia earlier this season

Elmer Moller struggled to contain Pablo Carreno-Busta's skill in their deciding match. Although Moller started strong in the second set, holding serve twice and creating two break opportunities, he couldn't capitalize on them. Carreno-Busta seized the moment, breaking Moller's serve to take a 4-2 lead, which seemed to dampen the Dane's spirits. This pivotal moment shifted the momentum in favor of the Spaniard, ultimately leading to his 6-2, 6-3 victory.

Denmark had been on the cusp of history, aiming to reach the Davis Cup Final 8 for the first time. However, Spain's resilience and determination paid off, despite the absence of World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, who withdrew due to physical and mental fatigue following his US Open triumph. Alcaraz expressed his excitement over Spain's qualification, posting "VAMOOOOS!!! ENORME EQUIPO!" on Instagram, congratulating his teammates on their remarkable comeback.
