Bayern Munich delivered a ruthless 5-0 thrashing to newly-promoted Hamburg, extending the visitors' losing streak at the Allianz Arena to 10 matches. The Hamburg side's historical struggles at this venue continued, with their previous eight visits yielding an alarming 50 conceded goals. The writing was on the wall from the outset, as Serge Gnabry broke the deadlock just three minutes in with a stunning strike.

Gnabry's goal set the tone for the rest of the match, as Bayern's attacking prowess proved too much for Hamburg to handle. Harry Kane added to the misery with a brace, capping off a dominant display from the home side. The defeat marked another chapter in Hamburg's struggles against Bayern at the Allianz Arena.

Hamburg SV was intimidated from the start, and their fears were confirmed when Aleksandar Pavlovic effortlessly passed the ball into the net after a one-two with Harry Kane. The hosts were given a glimmer of hope when William Mikelbrencis had a chance to score, but he couldn't capitalize. However, Tobias Stieler's penalty decision for Aboubakar Soumahoro's hand movement towards the ball further dampened Hamburg's spirits.

Harry Kane, looking to extend his record of scoring against every Bundesliga side he'd faced for Bayern, confidently converted the penalty into the bottom left corner. To make matters worse for Hamburg, Luis Diaz's shot took a cruel deflection off Luka Vuskovic and past Daniel Heuer Fernandes, leaving the score at 4-0 at halftime.

Hamburg made wholesale changes at halftime, which initially seemed to pay off as they showed improvement in the first moments of the second half. They managed to hold Bayern off for over 15 minutes before Harry Kane broke the deadlock once more, scoring his third goal of the match after receiving the ball from Michael Olise and expertly finding the near corner.

Kane was soon replaced by 17-year-old Lennart Karl, who had an opportunity to equal a record for goals scored by a side in the first three Bundesliga matchdays. However, Daniel Heuer Fernandes made a crucial save, tipping Karl's effort away and denying him the chance to make history.

Despite the heavy defeat, Hamburg's Merlin Polzin can take some solace in the fact that his team didn't get outplayed in the second half, avoiding a more humiliating scoreline. Robert Glatzel had Hamburg's best chance of the half, but his header sailed over the bar.

The 5-0 loss adds to Bayern's impressive goal tally against Hamburg in the Bundesliga, bringing their total to 252 goals against Die Rothosen - the most they've scored against any team in the league. For Hamburg, the defeat means they follow up a disappointing home loss to St Pauli with another dispiriting result, but their survival efforts will likely depend on other matches rather than this challenging away fixture.
