Madison Keys' bid for a second consecutive Grand Slam title fell short as she failed to reach the semifinals in Paris. Meanwhile, Coco Gauff will aim to improve on last year's performance, when she was beaten by Iga Swiatek in the semifinals. The early stages of their match were marked by nerves, with six breaks of serve in the first set as both players struggled to find their footing.
The first set saw both players combine for 10 double faults, with Madison Keys struggling, making 28 unforced errors. Coco Gauff also had issues, missing a set point in the 10th game and accumulating 21 unforced errors. Despite her mistakes, Gauff ultimately took the tiebreak after Keys' wild return sailed wide, handing Gauff the set.

Coco Gauff improved in the second set, taking a 4-1 lead with a double-break. However, she squandered her advantage with a sloppy service game, which included another double-fault, allowing Madison Keys to get back on level terms at 4-4. Keys had gained momentum with a forehand winner, but ultimately lost the next game, giving Gauff another crucial break.
Coco Gauff sealed the win in the third set, breaking Madison Keys to love with Keys' forehand sailing long. Gauff found consistency in the final set, enough to secure the victory after Keys' backhand error in the previous set had forced the decider.
