Chelsea's Mykhaylo Mudryk faces a potential four-year ban after being charged with doping by the FA. He tested positive for meldonium last year.
The banned substance could lead to a lengthy suspension, with Mudryk and Chelsea awaiting the B sample results. The FA confirmed the charges.
”We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations.
“As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time,” a spokesperson told The Telegraph.
Last December, Mykhaylo Mudryk responded on social media after learning of his positive test results.

“I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to the FA contained a banned substance. This came as a complete shock, as I have never intentionally used any banned substance or broken any rules, and I am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.”

“I know I've done nothing wrong, and I remain hopeful that I'll be back on the pitch soon. I can't say any more right now due to the confidentiality of the process, but I will as soon as I can,” Mudryk wrote on Instagram.
Mykhaylo Mudryk has enlisted Morgan Sports Law to handle his doping case, with Chelsea also providing legal support. The law firm previously represented Paul Pogba in his appeal against a doping suspension.
Mykhaylo Mudryk's last game was on November 28th against Heidenheim in the Conference League. He was later listed as injured until December, when he received news of his positive test result. Now, the FA has formally charged him with doping.
The 24-year-old, who joined Chelsea for around €100 million in 2023, has made 73 appearances for the Blues, scoring 18 goals and providing 8 assists.
Pogba's suspension was reduced from four years to 18 months after appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. He's now searching for a new club after terminating his Juventus contract.
