Ruud's strategy to pressure Medvedev's serve paid off, particularly in the first set. He broke Medvedev's serve in the fourth game and successfully held his own service games to take the set. Although Medvedev pushed Ruud hard in the second set, the Norwegian's consistency and determination ultimately secured him the win.

Casper Ruud dominated the first set against Daniil Medvedev, applying intense pressure on the Russian's serve. He broke Medvedev in the fourth game and successfully closed out the set. The second set was a tighter affair, with Ruud converting the lone break point he earned in the 11th game, allowing him to serve for the match.
