Yildiz Faces Ban for Red Card Against Monza

Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz handed two-match ban and €10,000 fine for violent conduct in win over Monza.

Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz will miss the team's Serie A games against Bologna and Lazio due to a two-game ban handed down by an Italian sports judge. This decision follows Yildiz's red card in Juventus' 2-0 win over Monza last weekend, where the 19-year-old elbowed Monza midfielder Alessandro Bianco in the face before half-time.

Yildiz was sent off for violent conduct and has since apologized to Juventus fans on social media, expressing regret for his actions. The young Turkish international was fined €10,000 in addition to the suspension. His absence will be significant for Juventus as they battle to secure a top-four finish and Champions League qualification.

Impact on Juventus:

  • Upcoming Matches: Juventus faces crucial games against Bologna and Lazio without Yildiz.
  • Champions League Qualification:
  • Juventus currently occupies the final qualification spot, with only three points separating them from eighth-placed Fiorentina.
  • Team Performance: Yildiz's suspension comes at a critical time, and Juventus will need to find alternative attacking options to secure victories.

Yildiz was also fined 10,000 euros ($11,402).

Juventus will travel to fifth-placed Bologna on Sunday before visiting Lazio, in seventh, on May 10 in what could be decisive encounters for the Turin side in the race for Champions League qualification.
