Liverpool manager Arne Slot expressed gratitude to Jurgen Klopp, thanking him for the legacy he left at the club. Slot's side secured a 5-1 victory over Tottenham, clinching the Premier League title in his first season at Anfield.

This win marks Liverpool's 20th top-flight English title, equalling Manchester United's record. Despite few expecting Liverpool to compete for the top spot after Klopp's departure, Slot defied expectations and matched his predecessor's league-title haul.

Liverpool will be presented with the Premier League trophy after their final home game against Crystal Palace on May 25. Captain Virgil van Dijk praised the team's achievement, saying, “It's special... we got the job done and we deserved champions of England.” Mohamed Salah also celebrated, stating this title win is “way better” than the one under Klopp in 2020.

Former Feyenoord manager Arne Slot paid a heartfelt tribute to Jurgen Klopp, getting the crowd to sing Opus' classic track “Live Is Life” with a special twist—replacing the lyrics with “Jurgen Klopp.” This gesture was a nod to Klopp's time at Liverpool, where he famously sang Slot's name during his farewell match at Anfield.

Slot praised Klopp for the solid foundation he left behind, highlighting the German manager's impressive achievements, including the Champions League and Premier League titles during his nine-year tenure. Slot's tribute underscored the respect between the two managers.

“I think that is something not one manager ever did before. So that is what definitely helped me,” he said.

“But apart from that, he helped me even more by the team he left behind and the culture he left behind in that team.

“The quality the players have was, I think, obvious for everyone. But the culture of hard work, the culture not only from the players, but also from the staff members, has been incredible.

“And that is one of the reasons why we could achieve what we've achieved this season.”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot described the feeling of winning the Premier League title as “unreal.” He revealed that he maintained his composure throughout the day, except for one moment when the team bus arrived at Anfield and was greeted by thousands of enthusiastic fans.

The title win marks Liverpool's 20th top-flight English league championship, equaling Manchester United's record. Slot's first season at Anfield has been a remarkable success, capping off an incredible campaign for the Reds.

“The only moment I was emotional today was when we arrived at the stadium, to see what it meant for the fans, what it meant for these people,” he said.

“For us to have a chance of winning, it felt really special, but immediately it also felt like we still have to do it.

“But I think everybody who was inside that bus felt, if the fans are with us like they are, then it's impossible for us to lose this game of football.

“And then during the game, after the game, it's been incredible how supportive the fans were and how our players played. And it's special to be part of this day.”
