Arteta Optimistic About Havertz's Recovery, Warns Against League Complacency
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta provides updates on Kai Havertz's injury recovery and the team's Premier League title chance.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta suggests Kai Havertz could return from injury earlier than expected, with his recovery ahead of schedule. Havertz had been ruled out for the season after undergoing surgery on a hamstring injury suffered in February. “For the semi-finals? I think that is too close,” Arteta said, likely referring to Arsenal's upcoming Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Arteta believes Havertz is on track to be available for the Champions League final on May 31st if Arsenal advances. “But if I have to bet on him (being available) earlier than expected, I would say: 'Yes',” Arteta added. He praised Havertz's work ethic, saying: “The way he works, every day he is in the gym, pushing everybody, and I don't think you can hold him back any longer.”
Arsenal's Premier League title challenge has petered out, but their European run has softened the blow. The Gunners trail Liverpool by 13 points with just six games remaining and are on course to finish second for a third consecutive season. Liverpool could seal the title as early as Sunday if they beat Leicester and Arsenal lose at Ipswich.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to avoid this scenario and has warned against easing up in the league. “We'll make sure that we win the game and that doesn't happen,” Arteta said. “We need to step up and start to win the games.” Champions League qualification for next season is also not yet confirmed, adding extra motivation for the team to perform well in the remaining matches.
