Alcaraz Battles into Barcelona Semi-Finals, Faces Fils

The Barcelona Open semi-finals are set: Alcaraz vs. Fils and Rune vs. Khachanov, with thrilling matches expected.

Carlos Alcaraz battled past Alex de Minaur to reach the Barcelona Open semi-finals, winning 7-5, 6-3. Alcaraz, the top seed, faced a tough challenge but managed to overcome de Minaur, showcasing his resilience. “It was really tight the first set,” Alcaraz said. “I'm glad that I ended up winning it. In the second set, I just played great tennis.”

In another match, Holger Rune ended the title defence of Casper Ruud, advancing to the next round. This sets up an interesting semi-final matchup between Alcaraz and Rune, as both players have been in top form this season. Alcaraz is chasing a third Barcelona title in four years and will look to continue his winning streak.

Carlos Alcaraz will face French rising star Arthur Fils in the Barcelona Open semi-finals, seeking to continue his impressive clay court form. Alcaraz previously beat Fils in three sets during his title run in Monte Carlo last week.

In the other semi-final, Holger Rune will take on Karen Khachanov after his convincing 6-4, 6-2 win over Casper Ruud. Rune dominated the match, breaking Ruud twice in each set to secure his spot in the next round. Khachanov earned his spot with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
