Althea Reinhardt's Goalkeeping Clinches Odense's Spot in Final Four

Odense qualifies for the Women's Champions League Final Four after Althea Reinhardt's outstanding goalkeeping helps them defeat Ferencvaros 25-24.

Althea Reinhardt's superb goalkeeping earned her Man of the Match honors as Odense qualified for the Women's Champions League Final Four. Reinhardt's impressive performance helped Odense defeat Ferencvaros 25-24, a first in club history.

Although not a starter, Reinhardt's impact was decisive, particularly in the second half where she saved 48% of the shots she faced. Her outstanding goalkeeping secured Odense's 25-24 win over Ferencvaros in the Champions League quarterfinals.

The first match had ended in a 27-27 draw, setting the stage for a thrilling second leg. Odense got off to a strong start in Budapest, with Thale Rushfeldt Deila scoring four of their first six goals, giving them a 6-3 lead after just eight minutes.

However, Odense's momentum faltered after the initial 15 minutes, as they committed numerous technical errors, allowing Ferencvaros to catch up. The Hungarian team tied the score at 14-14 just before halftime, after Odense had briefly led 14-11.

Ferencvaros dominated the start of the second half, taking a 16-14 lead as Odense's defense struggled. However, Althea Reinhardt's exceptional goalkeeping kept Odense in the match, making crucial saves that shifted the momentum.

Reinhardt's heroics boosted her team's confidence, and Odense eventually built a two-goal lead. Despite Ferencvaros' late pressure, Odense held on to win 25-24, securing a spot in the Final Four, which will take place in Budapest on May 31 and June 1.
