EPL: Everton Thrash Leicester 4-0 to Continue Resurgence Under David Moyes

Everton continued their resurgence under David Moyes with a convincing 4-0 win over Leicester City, thanks to goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure, Beto (2), and Iliman Ndiaye.

Everton's impressive resurgence under David Moyes continued with a convincing 4-0 victory over Leicester City, moving the Toffees nine points clear of the relegation zone. This win marked Everton's third consecutive Premier League success, a feat they had not achieved since April last year.

Everton's struggles in front of goal had been a major concern this season, with the team failing to score in a league-high 12 matches. However, David Moyes' men burst out of the blocks in this encounter, scoring twice inside six minutes to stun Leicester. The match was just 10 seconds old when Everton launched a quick counter-attack, culminating in Abdoulaye Doucoure firing home to send Goodison Park into raptures.

The Toffees' opening goal was a testament to their newfound confidence and pace. Jordan Pickford's long ball upfield found Doucoure, who chested it down before unleashing a powerful shot that gave the Leicester goalkeeper no chance. The electric atmosphere at Goodison Park was palpable as the Everton fans celebrated their team's blistering start.

Leicester City's struggles to recover from Everton's early goal were compounded when James Tarkowski effortlessly sliced through their defense, sending a through ball for Beto to slot into the far corner. This second goal, scored with ease, left Leicester reeling and facing a daunting task to get back into the game.

Following their impressive away win against Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy would have been disappointed by his team's lackluster first-half performance. The Foxes struggled to make an impact, failing to test the Everton defense, while the Toffees continued to dominate. Beto's third goal in stoppage time, set up by James Garner's clever pass, left Leicester with a mountain to climb.

With a comfortable three-goal lead, Everton resumed control after the restart, focusing on game management to see out the remaining 45 minutes. Leicester's struggles persisted, and they seemed unlikely to score even a consolation goal, let alone mount a comeback. Van Nistelrooy made changes on the hour mark, introducing Patson Daka, but it was too little, too late.

As the match drew to a close, Everton saw out the final minutes with ease, adding a fourth goal late on through Iliman Ndiaye. The winger capitalized on poor defending by Leicester, sliding the ball past Mads Hermansen to seal a convincing 4-0 win. This victory marked Everton's third win in four games under David Moyes, while Van Nistelrooy's Leicester suffered their eighth defeat in nine league games.
