Norwegian biathlete Tarjei Boe has announced his retirement from the sport, effective at the end of the current season.
Norwegian biathlete Tarjei Boe has announced his decision to retire from the sport at the end of the current season. The 36-year-old will not defend his two Olympic titles at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games. This news comes on the heels of his younger brother, Johannes Thingnes Boe, also announcing his retirement from biathlon.

Tarjei Boe has had a illustrious career, accumulating three Olympic gold medals. His first gold medal was won in the relay event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He added two more gold medals to his collection at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, winning the relay and mixed relay events.

Boe has chosen to conclude his career with a final race on home soil in Holmenkollen, Oslo, scheduled to take place in March. This will provide him with a fitting opportunity to bid farewell to the sport in front of his home crowd.
