Forest's Nuno Warns Against Complacency After 3-0 Win Over Wolves

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo stays grounded after sixth straight win, warning against complacency in the Premier League title race.

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo is remaining grounded despite his team's impressive six-match winning streak in the Premier League. The latest victory, a convincing 3-0 away win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday, has propelled Forest into the title conversation.

The triumph, which included Forest's ninth clean sheet of the season, was not without its nervy moments. Nevertheless, the result marked the team's joint-biggest win of the campaign, leaving them just six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool. Forest will have the opportunity to narrow the gap further when they host Liverpool at home next week.

Nottingham Forest's manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, praised his team's hard work and dedication after their 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. The visitors relied on goalkeeper Matz Sels' exceptional performance in the first half, and their clinical finishing saw them score with each of their three shots on target.

Nuno expressed his pride and satisfaction with the team's work ethic and desire to win. “It feels good. We work very hard to achieve what we have,” he told SkySports. “Today was a tough game. Wolves had chances and Matz Sels was amazing to keep us in the game. I'm really proud of the work ethic of the players and the desire to go in front and score.”

Despite the team's impressive winning streak, Nuno emphasized the importance of staying humble and focused. “It's a very tough competition. We are always going to face tough opponents. We need to stay humble. We haven't achieved anything yet, we need to work until the end and this can lead us to good moments,” he cautioned.

Nuno Espirito Santo is keeping a level head despite Nottingham Forest's impressive form, which has seen them accumulate 40 points from 20 games. This tally matches Leicester City's haul at the same stage of the 2015/16 season, when they went on to win the Premier League title in a shocking upset.

The Portuguese coach emphasized that his primary focus remains on improving his players. “My ambition is always the same,” he said. “As coaching staff, we have this natural ambition of improving the players; this is what we are obsessed with. If we improve the players, then the team will improve, and if the team improves, then the club will improve, and the city will be happy.”

Nuno believes that his players' confidence will be high going into their highly anticipated home clash with Liverpool on January 14. “The performance and the results help with confidence – you saw Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga today, they were confident and creating many problems (for Wolves),” he said. “This is what we want to see from our players, to feel good on the pitch and to work hard.”

However, Nuno is not getting ahead of himself and is prioritizing Nottingham Forest's upcoming FA Cup match against Luton Town on Saturday. “But before Liverpool, we have Luton Town, and we have to think about the FA Cup,” he said, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the task at hand.
