Adedeji Adeleke, Davido's father, claims his companies generate 15% of Nigeria's electricity, revealing significant contribution to power sector.
Billionaire entrepreneur Adedeji Adeleke, father of music sensation Davido, revealed that his companies generate 15% of Nigeria's electricity. He made this disclosure during the Seventh-Day Adventist Church's General Conference Annual Council 2024 on October 15.
At the esteemed event, Adeleke shared insights into his business endeavors, highlighting his significant contribution to Nigeria's power sector.
“I'm in the electricity business, I own power plants. I generate about 15 percent of Nigeria's electricity. I've Chinese engineering companies that work for me. I am building the biggest thermal power plant in Nigeria to be launched in January 2025. It's a 1250MW power plant,” he said.
Renowned singer Davido has highlighted his family's significant contribution to Nigeria's electricity distribution. Previously, he revealed that his family plays a vital role in powering a substantial part of the country.
In April, Davido disclosed that his family owns four power plants, which substantially contribute to Nigeria's energy needs. This assertion underscores the Adeleke family's pivotal role in addressing the country's electricity challenges.
