Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rocked by Sexual Harassment Allegations Against Top Official

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Adamu Ibrahim Lamuwa is accused of sexual harassment.

Adamu Ibrahim Lamuwa, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, faces sexual harassment allegations from Simisola Fajemirokun, a senior advisor to the minister. The minister has requested an investigation into the allegations, which could lead to consequences for Lamuwa.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' permanent secretary, Ambassador Adamu Ibrahim Lamuwa, has been accused of sexual harassment by Simisola Fajemirokun, Senior Special Advisor on Strategy, Investment, and Partnership to Minister Yusuf M. Tuggar.

The minister stated he was obliged to bring Lamuwa's accusation to the attention of Head of Service Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan and request that the allegations be addressed appropriately in a letter to Yemi-Esan.

In the letter dated May 27, 2024 with the title: Official Complaint Regarding Sexual Harassment Of Mrs Simisola Fajemirokun Ajayi By Ambassador Adamu Ibrahim Lamuwa, (Permanent Secretary Ministry Of Foreign Affairs), the minister said he is available to provide any assistance that the Head of Service may require in discharging her responsibilities.
