Lagos Court Dismisses Naira Abuse Case Against Cubana Chief Priest. The socialite and nightlife entrepreneur was accused of mishandling and spraying Naira, but the Federal High Court dismissed the case after both parties sought an out-of-court settlement.
Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, is a socialite and nightlife entrepreneur. The Federal High Court in Lagos dismissed the Naira abuse case against her on Tuesday.
On April 17, 2024, Cubana Chief Priest was first charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with three counts of mishandling and spraying Naira. The Central Bank Act of 2007's Section 21(1) is broken by these acts.
Cubana Chief Priest entered a not guilty plea and was given N10 million in bail.
Under Section 14(2) of the EFCC Act, both parties were reportedly seeking an out-of-court settlement in May, according to his legal team, which was headed by Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN).
The prosecution did not challenge the defense's withdrawal of a preliminary objection that came after this.
