El-Rufai drags Kaduna Assembly to court over N432bn probe
Ex-Kaduna Governor El-Rufai sues State Assembly over N432bn probe, claims infringement on fundamental rights. He contests allegations of misappropriation of funds, seeking legal action against the Assembly's ad hoc committee report.
The immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has sued the Kaduna State House of Assembly over their probe of his administration siphoned N432 billion during his eight- year as a governor.
This claim, according to the house of assembly, has left Kaduna State with massive debt liabilities.
However the former governor has on Wednesday launched a complaint at against the state House of Assembly at the Federal High Court in Kaduna, saying that his fundamental rights has been infringed.
Indicting Nasir El-Rufai and a few of his appointees, the ad hoc committee established by the Kaduna State House of Assembly to look into all money, loans, and contracts given under his watch released its report.
The Kaduna State House of Assembly established an ad hoc committee to look into all finances, loans, and contracts awarded under Nasir El-Rufai. The committee's report accused El-Rufai and some of his appointees of misappropriating funds.
El-Rufal is contesting the allegations of misappropriation of funds in the report, so he filed a lawsuit against the house through his attorney, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Abdulhakeem Mustapha.
