Bobrisky Pleads Not Guilty To Money Abuse

JUDGE drops allegations of money laundering and postpones making a decision until April 9 while Bobrisky enters a guilty plea to Naira abuse.

Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, is a well-known cross-dresser who entered a guilty plea to the Naira misuse accusation brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bobrisky was charged with six counts of allegedly abusing the Naira and laundering money when he appeared before the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Bobrisky entered a guilty plea to the first four counts, which involved Naira abuse, as soon as the charge was read. However, Suleiman Suleiman, the EFCC's attorney, sought the court to exclude counts five and six due to concerns about money laundering before the indictment was read.

Counts five and six were then stricken out by Justice Abimbola Awogboro.

Bobrisky was subsequently charged with only counts one through four. When Bobrisky was asked if he understood the charge after the counts were read to him, he answered, “Yes, I am guilty.”

The date of Justice Awogboro's ruling was subsequently set for April 9. He must be brought back into the custody of the EFCC while the court makes its decision.
