'One Nigerian Artiste I wish I had Sign' - AKON
Aliaune Damala 'Akon' Badara |
Senegalese-American artist, Akon, has expressed regret for not signing Olamide Adedeji, often known as Baddo or Olamide, a native of Nigeria, years ago
He claimed that the YBNL chairman was his favorite artist at the time.
Akon expressed his regret at not signing the rapper in a Skype chat with OAP Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, nicknamed Do2Tun, of Cool FM, Lagos.
"I would probably say the one person in Nigeria that I wish I had signed is Olamide. Honestly, I wish I had signed Olamide because he would have signed a lot of new artists anyway.
"Olamide was my favourite artist before he reinvented himself as a music executive. The first time we met, I told him he was my favourite artist," Akon stated.
Akon signed the Nigerian pop group P-Square to his Konvict Music record company several years ago.
