Klopp acknowledges his error in starting a Liverpool player against Wolves
The manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, acknowledged that starting Alexis MacAllister against Wolves was a mistake and that the midfielder was pleased to be changed at halftime.
Cody Gakpo's equalizer put Jurgen Klopp's team back on track.
However, five minutes from time in the second half, Andy Robertson gave Liverpool the lead, and five minutes later, Hugo Bueno scored an own goal to give Liverpool all three points as the game ended 3-I in their favor.
At his post-game press conference, Klopp claimed that Allister, who was substituted by Luis Diaz at halftime, had difficulty playing against the home team.
German said: "The good thing about the first half was that it was that bad that I didn't think we could play the second half like that.
"Obviously we wanted to start completely differently, but for whatever reason it was not possible for the boys, you can see it.
"Low energy level, Macca (Mac Allister), some others as well, you could just see they struggled. We could not change five times at half- time, so we thought we'd change the system and one player, and give us a bit more speed up front, natural speed. He had some good moments in the first half, but he was not disappointed to come off. More relief."
