ENUGU GUBER: AA DISPUTES THE OUTCOME AND REFERS PDP'S PETER MBAH TO THE TRIBUNAL
The Action Alliance, AA, has petitioned the Enugu State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to overturn Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the March 18 election winner.
On April 12, 2023, the Tribunal acknowledged receipt of a copy of the AA's Petition.
The Independent National Election Commission, INEC, Mbah, and the People's Democratic Party, as the first, second, and third defendants, are also named as defendants.
The AA is asking the Tribunal to overturn Mbah's victory due to noncompliance with the Electoral Act and other pertinent standards, according to the petition filed through its lawyer, John C. Nwobodo.
Mr. Ogbonna Festus Okafor, Chairman of the AA in Enugu State, stated to press that the petition was submitted after the AA analyzed the entire election process and allegedly noticed that Mbah was declared winner by the INEC despite evident anomalies.

AA further claimed that Mbah filed a shady National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, certificate to the INEC and was hence unable to run in the election.
Barr. Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party, it should be noted, has also gone to the Tribunal to challenge Mbah's emergence.
